Lev L. Spiro (USA)

Spiro’s dual photographic series Elemental / Thin Places explores the natural world as both sacred and untamed. Elemental captures the volcanic and glacial landscapes of Iceland and Patagonia in striking black-and-white compositions that radiate raw, primordial beauty. Thin draws inspiration from the ancient Celtic idea of “thin places,” where the veil between the physical and spiritual worlds briefly dissolves. Together, the works reveal a meditative conversation between the earthly and the transcendent.

ABOUT LA BOTTEGA GALLERY

With roots in a private collection of Italian etchings built over more than forty years, La Bottega Gallery honors the enduring craft of fine printmaking while curating select contemporary works that share its spirit of precision and depth. What began as an archive of master engravings has evolved into a dialogue between tradition and modern vision, where technique, texture, and storytelling remain at the heart of every piece.

The gallery’s foundation rests on its extensive collection of etchings, a lineage of craftsmanship shaped through decades within the Laguna Beach art community. Over time, this core has expanded to include a curated roster of Guest Artists whose paintings, photographs, sculptures and mixed-media works embody the same commitment to beauty, integrity, and craft.

Each exhibition unites these two worlds, the etched and the contemporary, reflecting a belief that true artistry transcends medium yet remains forever bound to the mastery of the artist.
