Milovan Stanic was born in Croatia and also spent most of his life in Santa Barbara, California. He was really motivated and skillfully pursued the physiognomic and psychological characteristics of the characters he portrayed, interpreting their gestures and grimaces in his own way. He devoted most of his paintings to portraits, and reached the fullness of expression on them especially in the presentation of actors, directors, theater people.
